Great user-friendliness thanks to the Self Check System (SCS)

Analytik Jena continuously improves its analysis systems, for example through the fully automated monitoring of instrument parameters. This means that TOC analysers from Analytik Jena are equipped with a Self Check System (SCS) as standard.

The advantages of this system are quite obvious:

Typical user errors and erroneous analysis results can be avoided und use-friendliness is significantly enhanced as a result.

The Self Check System (SCS) combines a number of control mechanisms:

  • electronic gas regulation
The system gas flow is regulated with an electronic mass flow meter (MFM) and mass flow controller (MFC). Manual regulation of the gas flow is not necessary. This technology guarantees high precision gas regulation. Gas flows are displayed and monitored in the multiWin® software
  • electronic MC-NDIR control
The detector signals from the MC-NDIR detector are controlled online. Malfunction of the detector are represented in a very use-friendly way.
  • electronic chemiluminescence detector (CLD) control
The detector signals from the CLD detector are controlled online. Converter temperature, vacuum and ozone damage are monitored dependent on their type. For instance, the emission of ozone immediately halts the measurement.
  • electronic temperature control
The oven temperature is controlled online and is displayed in the multiWin® software. This ensures an optimal digestion temperature at all times.
  • automatic gas shutdown
The gas supply for TOC measurement is automatically shut down at the end of a sample sequence. This feature saves measurement gas and therefore lowers the operating costs of the instrument.

  • automatic control of the maintenance intervals
The number of measurements is registered by the multiWin® software. An automatic injection counter with memory function for routine maintenance, e.g. catalyst replacement, checks that you automatically obtain a message if a defined number of sample injections is exceeded. This lowers operating costs significantly.

  • electronic leakage control
Gas leaks can cause serious malfunctions and lead to erroneous results. The TOC systems monitor the gas flow electronically and register leaks. You are informed immediately in the case of a gas leak and the measurement sequence is automatically stopped. No additional mass flow meters are required for the leakage test.

  • automatic TIC control
Correct TOC measurement using the direct method (NPOC) requires control of the gas expulsion step. The TOC systems control the "residual TIC" fully automatically to avoid multiple results.

Permanent testing of all relevant parameters using the SCS avoids any possible malfunctions. Trouble-free and fully automatic operation of the instrument system is ensured and operating costs can be considerably reduced.
